IMAGERY

Visualizing:

~ Can help improve performance - when watching yourself and feeling yourself do it can transfer into your real performances.

~ Your brain cannot tell the difference between a visualization (very vivid and well practiced) and real experience so the body will react the same when imagining and performing.

~ When having a mental block or issue doing a skill visualizing doing it perfectly will help you get what you really want. Your mind remembers doing the skill over and over again, therefore when doing it in practice it comes naturally.

* When I was faced with a mental block, I visualized doing my acro series everyday 5 times before going to beam and 10 times before bed. After awhile going for the skill became easier and easier.*

* The last day before competition at the end of the day, as a group we sit down and visualize, in silence, all of our routines 3 times.
